Submit to The Porcupine

If you would like to submit your work to The Porcupine, please send it either as an attachment or in the main body of the email to submit@theporcupine.org.

We would prefer any attachments to be one of the following file types:

  • .doc (Word document)
  • .pdf (Portable Document Format)
  • .rtf (Rich Text Format)
  • .txt (Text file)

We welcome articles, essays and think-pieces on almost any subject of social or political relevance that would not normally expect to be published in conventional places. They may be about recent events or larger issues.

Please make sure that the title of the article is clearly indicated, as well as your first and last name, and that you provide some personal background (a few sentences will usually do). The editors will try to get back to you within a reasonable period of time regarding your submission.

In general, submissions should be between 500 and 3,000 words, but shorter and longer pieces will always be considered.

Important: By submitting work for publication we understand that you are the author or creator of that work, that it has not been published before or, if it has, you are the holder of the copyright. The Porcupine reserves the right to edit the work but, in the case of anything but minor alterations, we will consult with the author prior to publication.
